My love of the land was instilled at an early age through family trips outside of the city into the surrounding farmland and beyond. The idea that all this could be captured in an image was suggested on the stairway landing of our school where a framed print of an abstracted autumn wilderness surrounding a white canoe on a reflecting pool was featured. When drawing turned to painting one thing led to another and before long my father asked if I could join his adult painting group. They were working on depicting the hard middle between the sky, and water. I jumped in and continue today. Enjoy the view.
